    Why Your ‘WHY?’ matters

    January 30, 2016 / No Comments

“Why do I have to put the dishes in the dishwasher?” “Why do I have to take a bath?” “Why do I have to be home at curfew?” The list goes on and on… If you have a child, you get it. Your child is constantly asking you “Why?” as they navigate and figure out the world around them. Now, on the flipside, have you ever asked yourself “Why?” “Why do I ask my kids to pick up toys before dinner?” “Why did I buy that new car?” “Why do I yell when my kids don’t listen?” Have you ever thought about your “WHY?” What if I told you it’s…

    Wishing you a Merry Christmas

    December 22, 2015 / No Comments

WISHING YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS Hanukkah is over and Christmas is only 3 days away. As you gather with family and friends this season, I would like to wish you and yours a joyous Christmas filled with love and laughter. It has been an honor to serve and meet so many new families this year. There truly is a shift happening around the world. Parents are stepping up and saying ‘NO’ to the old dominant paradigm of parenting. They are moving away from control and into understanding and love. The holidays are a great time to be reminded that we have a choice of how we want to parent. We can choose…

    Keep your holidays stress-free

    November 28, 2015 / No Comments

Last month kicked off the season of gratitude here in America with Thanksgiving. If you celebrated, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful time with family and friends. I love all the delicious food, family and festivities however sometimes all the extra activities can add to the stress. Now that we are into December the momentum and stress of holiday season speeds up. I wanted to share some tips for keeping the season stress-free. 1.) Plan. Have a family meeting and discuss where and when you plan to travel or attend festivities. Talk about which parent will attend the Christmas pageant if one parent cannot attend. Make an action plan for…

    The Value of an Adventure

    October 14, 2015 / No Comments

So, I’ve been thinking about this lately, really, “What does the value of an Adventure mean to me?” I recently watched an interview with Chris Guillebeau regarding his new book, The Happiness of Pursuit: Finding the Quest That Will Bring Purpose To Your Life. From the interview I really felt compelled to explore this concept. And explore it with my kids. I have not read his book yet, but I certainly plan on it. The interview was filled with so much awesomeness I had to explore it immediately. First, what is an Adventure? Wikipedia describes an Adventure as an exciting or unusual experience. In the interview Chris explains how smaller…

How to Shift your Child’s Behavior

    September 12, 2015 / No Comments

A few weeks ago my 5 year old and I decided to head to the beach… The weather was good so we were going to ride our bikes. I packed beach toys, sand buckets, drinks, and a lunch. I had the bike wagon loaded up and we were almost ready to head out. Just then I turned around to see my daughter standing in the doorway wearing a pink dress-up costume, dress-up jewelry and pink plastic fuzzy dress-up slippers? Really? She knew we were heading to the beach. I wanted to scream. I was not ready to deal with the challenge of getting her to change. Then again what choice did I have? How…
